For this project, I worked with Content and Application Engineers to develop scripts regarding each application. The goal of this project is to educate users of the way 3D printing can be integrated into their production methods. In the production phase, I worked on a team of two to shoot and direct the filming of the Soft Jaws and End-of-Arm Tooling videos. Before concluding my internship I was also able to contribute to the initial editing process.

As a result of this project, I was able to lead the development of 4 videos in series focused on educating customers on applications of 3D printing. I also worked on developing a company culture reel, that highlighted the environment and people of Markforged for recruitment campaigns.

Process
The process for creating this, started with a multi-team brainstorm, discussing applications of Markforged 3D printers that would highlighted best in video.
Next, I worked with several Application Engineers and Content Engineers as well as a Video Production Contractor, to write scripts. After several drafts and revisions, the scripts were ready and I developed a plan of equipment I would need. The videos were filmed in the Markforged office, and each feature an Application Engineer, someone who educates and works with customers and potential customers to ensure that Markforged printers meet their needs. As the project was being filmed, my internship came to an end, and so two of the videos were filmed and edited by someone else, following the script and template that I had worked to create. |
The company culture focused video entitled We Are Markforged, was filmed by myself and a Video Production Contractor. I filmed events around the office and reached out to people across the organization (from sales, engineering and even the CEO and founder,) to conduct open ended interviews that were then interwoven into the final product.
Impact
The impact that this Application video series had can be seen on the Markforged website. The relaunched Applications page, aims at educating prospects and customers about how 3D printing can be used to save money and time in their businesses. These videos now provide a quick introduction to specific applications and can be used as educational or sales tools when teaching someone about 3D printing. It is amazing to know that my work and interactions with members of the Markforged team, can lead to sales and implementation of 3D printing in businesses large and small across the globe.
